The good ratings don't lie! I highly recommend Uni Rent if you want to rent a car in Split. There was no additional costs (I.e. for x-border or ferry, no mileage limits) and cheaper in compare with other rental companies I checked (the price with full insurance was the same as basic price in other companies). The car I chose was one of the cheapest. Outside it was looking quite good (few scratches only); the gear was a bit used but that's what you can expect.from the rental car; brakes were all good (and I had experience with much worse cars).
Beware, there was a deposit taken around twice of the final price, but it was given back on the credit card after the car was returned.

Once you arrive in Split, you won’t need to look at any other company. In a sector full of fraud and scams, these are truly people who do their job with integrity. Before coming to Split, I had a lot of concerns about car rental, but thanks to Uni-Rent, I had a very smooth trip. Huge thanks to the entire team!

Uni Rent is wonderful! I have I used them multiple times. I respectfully disagree that all rental companies are the same. Some rental companies will try and upsell unnecessary services and or add fees. I have had the experience with a couple of different companies when picking up in Zagreb but never with Uni Rent.
